One of the things that I hear a lot in my line of work is the following…
“I know it’s my thinking but…”
Someone might say to me that they want to pursue a goal or dream, and they say;
“I’d really love to do this thing, and I know it’s only my thinking, but I’m worried I might fail”.
When they say that, I know that they don’t really know that it’s only their thinking.
Thinking often looks real to us and this is what gets us stuck.
When someone says they know it’s their thinking but…, that means that they can sort of see that it’s their thinking, but their thinking still looks somewhat real to them.
My job is to help them really see that it’s only their thinking. Because when they see this for themselves, they are free to pursue the things that are really important to them, rather than living into a life of anxious thinking.
When I left my career as a Lecturer in CBT, I left it because I thought I discovered an even better approach. It’s a subtractive psychological approach where people that come to understand it, experience the following benefits:
- You’ll lose a taste for things that no longer work for you
- You’ll easily drop patterns that no longer serve you
- Stress and anxiety will make less and less sense to you. You’ll then find that you have the ability to drop both quicker, as you will see their true root cause
- You’ll find that you are more at peace and comfortable in your own skin
- You will be more creative because you’re in a less reactive state
- You will be less attached to outcomes and more in love with the present moment
- You will be more motivated to pursue things that you value and are important to you
- You will find more love, joy, connection and fulfilment
I’ve worked one on one with individuals for 19 years now. That’s around 6500 hours. I’ve got a first-class degree in psychology, a masters in CBT, a post grad certificate in psychological therapies. I trained in ACT, CFT, somatic therapies, internal family systems, am a certified mindfulness teacher and a certified transformative coach.
And perhaps more than any of that, I’ve been obsessed about human potential, wellbeing, and development for 20 years now, having overcome CPTSD, anxiety and depression myself and built a business, family, and life that I love.
If you want to learn some of what I’ve learnt about how to get the best out of yourself, and your life, you can work with me one-on-one and download my expertise for yourself.
I don’t promise results, but I do promise to share the absolute best of what I’ve learnt with you.
