What is Mindset Coaching?

Having worked as a Psychotherapist in Dorset for ten years in the NHS, I’m often asked ‘what’s the difference between therapy and coaching?’

Not to mention the many different types of therapy and coaching there is available!

TOOLS AND TECHNIQUES V TRANSFORMATION

When I worked as a lecturer in CBT, I used to teach my students various strategies to help people cope with their experience. What led me to leaving my career in traditional psychology was that sometimes these various tools and techniques worked, but a lot of the time they didn’t.

I wanted to understand more about the truth of what creates our experience of life, and the root cause of human struggles. I wanted to understand the keys to wellbeing and performance. 

My hope is that by reading this book and understanding more about how our psychology and life works, is that you will no longer be seeking tools and techniques to cope with life, because you’ll be in your natural state of happiness. 

My approach is a subtractive psychological approach. Instead of adding to the overload of information already swimming around in your mind, I’ll show you how to take things back to basic common sense and innate wisdom that is already and always available within you. 

In short, what I’ve come to see from leaving my successful career in traditional psychology is this;

People don’t need therapy. They need less thinking clouding over their own true brilliant nature. 

LIMITING BELIEFS 

If you’ve ever had the feeling that there’s more to life, then you’ll know it can feel like you’re limited in some way, kind of like you’re living in a mind-made prison, a mental cage created by your own limited habitual thinking. 

These mind-made prisons get in the way of us living the life we want to live. It’s almost impossible to comprehend how much thought impacts and shapes our lives until you wake up to what’s thought, and what’s not. The distinction between truth and thought is the most profound distinction I’ve ever learnt.

I’ve learnt that if you’re thinking something that’s not true, you tend to find yourself stuck and not functioning well. If you keep coming across the same patterns and obstacles in life, this book will show you how to break free.
